What we provide, and what we do not
We provide accommodation in a darkened cabin, meals if you order them, and the presence of a guide for the duration of your stay. That is the whole of it.
This is not a health service. We are not doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists or spiritual teachers, we do not diagnose or treat anything, and nothing we offer is a substitute for medical or psychological care. We make no promise about any outcome. If you are under medical or psychiatric care, talk to your own clinician before booking.
Booking
Sending the form on this site is an enquiry, not a booking. It commits you to nothing and charges you nothing. We reply with available dates and a price; a booking exists only once we have both confirmed it in writing and you have paid the agreed deposit.
Prices are confirmed to you in writing before you pay anything. The all-inclusive week is 990 EUR. Travel to the Czech Republic and any accommodation before or after the retreat are not included in that figure and are quoted separately.
Your health, honestly declared
By booking you confirm that you have read the contraindications on this site and that none of them applies to you, or that you have told us about it and we have agreed you may come anyway.
This matters. Several days alone in darkness is demanding, and we can only judge whether it is safe for you on the basis of what you tell us. If you conceal a relevant condition, we cannot take responsibility for what follows. We may decline a booking, or end a stay early, if we believe continuing would put you at risk. If we end a stay for that reason, you pay only for the nights you used.
During your stay
You may leave at any time, for any reason or none. The door is not locked and the light is under your control. If you leave early by your own choice, the nights you booked remain payable, though in practice we look at each case and are not unreasonable about it.
Please treat the cabin and the grounds with care; you are responsible for damage you cause beyond ordinary wear. Alcohol and recreational drugs are not permitted on the premises.
Cancellation
Plans change and we would rather know early. Cancellation terms, including any deposit and how much of it is refundable, are set out in the written confirmation you receive when you book — read them before you pay. If you need to move your dates, ask us; we accommodate this where we can.
Because you are travelling internationally, we strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellation and medical costs.
Liability
We are liable for damage we cause by breaching our obligations to you, to the extent Czech law provides. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
We are not responsible for your journey to and from the Czech Republic, for flights we book on your behalf as an intermediary, or for your belongings.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Czech law, and the courts of the Czech Republic have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country.
If something goes wrong, write to us first. We would much rather sort it out directly.
